It’s a Wonderful Life
Glenn Gregory and Martyn Ware members of Heaven 17 performed Penthouse & Pavement album in its entirety- it did not take too long ….. Albums were all too short back in the 80’s.
2nd set after the break was a BEF affair – British Electric Foundation. This became a tour de force, guest artists included Peter Hooten, Mari Wilson and Glen Matlock they each covered 2 songs – all great numbers with Sex Pistols bass guitarst Glen ringing a Country & Western ballad out of Pretty Vacant ! Ware and Gregory duetting with You’ve Lost that Lovin Feeling – the Righteous Brothers cover which Top Gun made cool at the time and to finish a gob smacking rendition of Temptation an all time H17 classic. But you still need really a final finale to sing on the way home which was a dedication – a Wonderful Life. Great Stuff at the Apex – A very intimate night out.
