Roll Up…

Great fun and great stamina on behalf of the circus artists who performed over the May bank holiday weekend.

Children loved the routines, the role play which the performers encouraged and audience participation.

Juggling, clowning, tightroping, the trapeze and knife throwing all were exhibited – the latter was hugely amusing as a random male was picked from the audience blindfolded and submitted to the ultimate test!  A worthy show at really an affordable ticket price carried out with verve and passion – so support Circus Ferrel if they perform near you.

Showing in Norfolk and Suffolk during Summer.  Check out web site for details www.circusferrel.com

Origins of Circus

  • Believed to date from Ancient Rome, the circus was a building for the exhibition of horse and chariot races, equestrian shows, staged battles andgladitorial combat
  • The first circus in the city of Rome was the Circus Maximus, in the valley between the Palatine and Aventine hills. It was originally constructed completely from wood. After being rebuilt several times, the final version of the Circus Maximus could seat 250,000 people!!
