Chantel – The Healing

A packed house at the Apex but strange mood when mostly all seated. Chantel was out front signing CD’s and taking selfies with the crowd. Dressed in a voluptuous black dress with diving neckline she ripped through old and new with ‘tall beanpole no knees jeans’ bass guitarist keeping all on track, along with young drummer and stalwart keyboard player.

Old favourites included Eternal Dream and Walk on Land and Your Fever
Anaesthetise was excellent and Radiohead cover of Creep was special.

The new album The Healing was covered with many tracks including Echos, which I believe was described by a punter as a “fucking brutal song”. Undercover is the new single.

Blue Nation were a superb support 3  piece band. We liked the audience ad lib and many tracks like Down by the River and the mad drummer we nick named ‘Animal’ (from the muppets)
