God Rest You ‘Merry’ Gentlemen

Ale + Carols = Christmas.

A Carol Service at the local Pub, what a splendid idea. Visit the Holbrook Swan just before Christmas each year and you’ll be greeted with a crowd of rowdy revellers… family and friends, dogs and drunkards (in the nicest sense), preachers and players, and those lovely old ladies that sing with that trill wavering warble.

It’s a damn fine way to usher the season of goodwill in, with the Swan crew handing out the free tea and mince pies, before the night descends from joyous communal caterwauling into a full blown hop induced blow out.

Do yourself a favour next year and check it out, it’s a proper blast.
