Linkin Park – Rest their Case
Shockingly loud from start to finish Linkin Park strode through their repertoire with a defiant magnificence. We had a great view of the spectacle despite the large man in front, who turned out to be a lady wearing a ‘Drop Dead’ T shirt!
How the lead singer, Chester Bennington is able to sing a lullaby with the melodies of an angel and then move swiftly to crashing out vigorous anthems with pining primeval screams for 2 hours is a daunting spectacle that requires respect. He is a vessel of driven energy on stage, bouncing menacingly about and even at rest is like a Velociraptor waiting to strike from one of the on stage speaker boxes. Mike Shindoa operates as guitarist and rapper with equal aplomb and together with the maniacal drumming machine of Rob Bourdon they ensured there was simply no let up to the output.
Linkin Park drove there way thru the albums – like an unstoppable tank – Hybrid Theory, Living Things, A Thousand Suns, Minutes to Midnight and Hunting Party. The only disappointing element was that many of the songs were cut short, especially the more haunting numbers like Robot Boy & Iridescent – but that is the price you pay for having such a huge back catalogue!
