City Afflictions

I have been unlucky with any trip out of City Airport.

Last time the flight was unable to leave for several hours for fog, this time airborne and a short hop to Rotterdam but more fog in Europe meant flight could not land in Rotterda. The pilot then tried unsuccessfully to land in Antwerp before being diverted to Amsterdam!. A bus transfer was arranged , but the crowd of 30 affected  slowly melted away and a small ‘rump group ‘was left taking the shortish journey back to Rotterdam airport. I asked if i could be dropped in town which was not possible so a trip that should have taken a couple of hours took ten !

I stayed in Citizen hotel – an absolute bargain and very central – not that I had much time to explore

On the way back all was smooth and I had wonderful view of a London from the port window of ants hurrying home in the darkness. On landing -I was engulfed in major roadworks and my trip has the  same end as the beginning – another long delay.  Will be avoiding City airport from now on !

THE BEST I CAN SAY IS THE AIRPORT PARKING IS EXCELLENT
