Forest Bike Rides & the Age of Steam

North Norfolk

Weyborne log cabin lodges located in the forest are an excellent spot for family off-road bike rides including a fairly leisurely 3-4 mile circuit which takes you down thru the woods skirting the railway track and across bridle paths and lanes up thru Sherringham Park across paved roads passing grazing cows and back again on country roads.  If you prefer not to exercise you can walk down to the Weybourne station and journey back in time to the age of steam.

Trains run regularly to Holt and Sherringham. But beware if you trek to Holt you are some distance from town so need to either hike into town more than a mile, or wait for public transport in the shape of the bus to arrive.

Holt is great place to pass the time, check out Carol Ann Pennington’s art shop or if you can travel field afield Stiffkey post office has an excellent tea shop, while Burnham Market boasts an excellent Vitners in the shape of Satchells wine merchants -certainly worth a look.
