Clapton, Chelsea & the Coda
I have been waiting to see Eric Clapton for along time and was left feeling a little disappointed.

He look very eponymous on stage almost a lookalike ringer for Bill Gates with blue shirt smothered with a dangling cross, red glasses, and bushy white hair. That would all be ok, but there was was no singer audience connection, no charisma. it felt a little like a chore to be at the Albert Hall. In addition, the choice of music was eclectic, enlivened only as the set proceeded with Badge and Cross Road Blues and finally the inspired JJ Cale famous cover Cocaine. In many respect the warm-up act lead by Andy Fairweather-low was more endearing.

Postscript
The best was enjoyed prior to the concert. We awoke at 5am to set off to the Chelsea Flower Show. All fine until midday when the rain set in… we knew it was on the way so managed to cover the gardens outside first and then in the light rain settled down with fish & chips washed down with a glass of Artelium Pinot Noir and enjoyed the La Femme trio. Arrived at the sanctuary of the Coda restaurant a pair of drowned rats, but in good mood to enjoy our sumptuous feast before the show
